Lip Blush Tattoo
Before Procedure
- It is advisable to eat before your appointment to maintain stable blood sugar levels during the procedure.
- Avoid consuming alcohol 24 hours prior to your appointment as it can thin the blood, making the skin more sensitive and prone to bleeding or bruising.
- Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications such as ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil tablets for 72 hours before the appointment.
- If you have ever had a cold sore, it is necessary to take antiviral medication prescribed by your doctor, like Acyclovir 800mg, for at least 3 days before and after the lip blush procedure.
- Taking an antihistamine tablet before the procedure may help reduce swelling, but it is recommended to consult with a pharmacist or doctor beforehand.
- It is recommended to tattoo your lips before getting lip fillers to ensure that the color is implanted properly. If the color is implanted too soon, it will be placed above the natural lip line, which can cause the lip line to appear distorted when the lips shrink back to their normal size.
After Procedure
After the treatment, your lips may be slightly swollen and sensitive. To reduce swelling and provide relief, you can use an icepack. It is important to apply an aftercare balm frequently, ideally every hour, during the first 10 days to keep your lips moisturized. This will help with tenderness and preserve the color. If you do not use enough balm, your lips may feel tight and the pigmentation may fade.
Here are some important notes:
- Apply the aftercare balm before showering to protect your lips from water.
- Avoid picking, wiping, or licking your lips. They will naturally exfoliate within 3-4 days.
- Stay away from greasy, spicy, and oily foods, as well as citrus fruits and juices for the first 7 days, as they can affect the color of your lips.
- Refrain from using citrus or fruit-based lip balms or lipstick until your lips are fully healed (approximately 4 weeks).
- Be cautious while cleaning your teeth for the first 7 days, as toothpaste can remove the lip pigment.
